| The Darfield Community Association is a voluntary group
comprised of local people who are interested in the welfare of the
Village. The group was incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee
in 2004.
The board of trustee's meets monthly and has the
following objectives.
- To foster and improve Community Spirit.
- Encourage volunteerism and support self help initiatives.
- Support the improvement in the welfare and well being of local
residents.
- Initiate Solutions to combat crime.
- engender a strong commitment to the protection of the
environment.
On membership approval the member shall be entered into a class of
membership as follows :- following classes of membership are subject to
clause 7 of the Memorandum and articles and whilst a member or for 12
months afterwards to pay up to £1 towards the cost of dissolution and
the liabilities incurred by the charity while he or she was a member.
• General
Any member not specifically placed into any
other class of membership, General Members have voting rights
• Trustee
Trustees are elected either by the membership
of the Darfield Community Association at the AGM or are co-opted by the
serving trustees to fill a vacancy on the Board of Trustees. For
avoidance of doubt all trustees are company directors as defined by the
Company’s Act. Trustee members have voting rights
• Organisation
Where an organisation’s is approved for
membership the organisation shall nominate in writing details of the
organisations representative.The Representative shall have a single vote
on behalf of the organisation The following classes of membership are
not subject to clause 7 of the Memorandum and articles
• Youth
All members who are under 18 years of age,
Youth Members have no voting rights.
• Associate
Any Representative of Local Authorities or
other vested interest group who are not resident within Darfield shall
be ex-officio.Associate Members have voting rights but are unable to
become trustees |
